A striking desert gem with a rugged charm.

This rare and resilient agave is native to the rocky slopes of the Mojave Desert. With its blue-green leaves edged in dramatic spines and a sculptural, low-growing form, Agave utahensis var. nevadensis is a true standout in any arid garden or container display.

Hardy, slow-growing, and beautifully adapted to harsh conditions, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil — asking for little, but giving a lot in visual impact. It’s drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and often admired for its wild, architectural beauty.

Perfect for rock gardens, minimalist landscapes, or collectors of rare succulents.

How to Take Care

The Secret Life of Happy Plants

(No. 01)

☀️ Light

Loves full sun! Give it at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight a day. If indoors, place near a super bright south-facing window.

(No. 02)

💧 Watering

Very drought-tolerant. Water deeply but only when the soil is bone dry. In warmer months, maybe once every 2–3 weeks. In winter, even less.

(No. 03)

🌿 Fertilizing

Not too hungry — feed lightly with a cactus fertilizer in spring if you like, but it’ll often do fine on its own.

(No. 04)

🌱 Soil

Well-draining soil is a must. Think cactus/succulent mix or a sandy, rocky blend. Avoid anything too rich or moisture-retentive.
